TARTA launches new user-friendly website

Getting information about and communicating with the Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA) became much easier with the launch of a new website in late April.

Created in a collaborative process with Station Four of Jacksonville, Florida, the new tarta.com is designed with the customer in mind and provides easier navigation and a faster path to providing the information users want.

The site features several upgrades including:

• A trip navigator on the front page of the site.

• Real time arrival information of TARTA buses.

• Streamlined navigation, making it easier for visitors to find what they want.

• Enhanced options and better visibility for those viewing the site on a mobile device.

“From the look of this site to its capabilities for customers and everything in between, this will be an incredibly useful tool to easily access the information that people who depend on our mobility system need,” said TARTA CEO Laura Koprowski.

TARTA is making use of Station Four’s eTransit product, developed specifically for public transit agencies, to create a seamless experience for the user and make it simple to plan a trip. In the coming weeks, TARTA’s services beyond fixed route – such as TARTA Move paratransit and TARTA Flex on-demand – will be incorporated into the trip planner.

Family Center to host ‘Dress for Success’

The East Toledo Family Center will host “Dress for Success,” a Job Connections and Resource Fair, Saturday, May 3, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the center, 1020 Varland Ave., Toledo.

Attendees will find opportunities for employment connections and get help with interview skills and resume building.

New and gently used business appropriate attire will also be available, while supplies last.

“Last year, an individual who was incarcerated for 10 years walked out with a suit, multiple dress shirts, ties and dress pants, but most importantly, a job,” said Jodi Gross, ETFC executive director. “This year, we have partners like Goodwill of Northwest Ohio, Owens Community College Workforce Development, Valor Family Connections – Fatherhood Program and other human resource professionals who volunteer their time to connect participants with resources, provide interview preparation or resume assistance.”
