To the editor: For Oregon being a "tree city," why didn't the city apply for the grant to mitigate the spread of the invasive spotted lantern fly. State and local agencies were invited to apply. With the parks, e.g. Pearson and Maumee Bay, being within the Oregon area, it would have been VERY helpful to have some assistance, in the private sector, in getting rid of these maple tree destroying insects.
