Sander inducted
Ian Sander of Pemberville, was inducted into the Mortar Board national honor society at Ohio Wesleyan University.
Mortar Board recognizes students with senior standing for exemplary scholarship, leadership, and service. The honor society also “provides opportunities for continued leadership development, promotes service to colleges and universities, and encourages lifelong contributions to the global community.”

Witte awarded
Cole Witte, of Gibsonburg, recently received the Haskin Award from Hiram College’s School of Health, Education, Sustainability, and Society.
The School covers programs in criminal justice, sociology, education licensure, psychology, integrative exercise science, and biomedical humanities.
Each department chose to honor students graduating with program honors, award and scholarship recipients, or students with outstanding involvement in the major or program research. Witte is in the Education Department.
Megan Hughes earns honors
Megan Hughes, of Oregon, stands among a distinguished group of students at Baldwin Wallace University who reached BW's pinnacle of academic achievement with induction into the Dayton C. Miller Honor Society.
Hughes, a graduate of Clay High School majoring in public relations, was honored with membership that is achieved by only 4% of the undergraduate student body. Members are selected for maintain superior academic work consistently.
Horvath named to All-Ohio Athletic Conference Team
Will Horvath, (Oregon/Clay High School) is one of the three Baldwin Wallace University men’s tennis student-athletes to be named to the 2025 All-Ohio Athletic Conference Team
Horvath, who earns his third straight first team accolade, was tied for third on the team with 10 singles victories and overall record of 10-8. He was tied for the squad lead with 15 doubles wins and a record of 15-8. For his career, Horvath has a singles record of 40-14 and doubles record of 53-18. Off the court, he is an Academic All-OAC honoree and an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar Athlete.
Moore elected into Phi Kappa Phi
Samantha Moore, of Oregon, was recently elected to membership into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society, at Bowling Green State University.
Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership.
