Below is a listing of results and stats from the third week of the girls volleyball season. This is for matches played through Aug. 31. Information is gathered via MaxPreps, coach email submissions and team social media accounts. A lack of individual stats listed means none of those sources provided that information.

The Eastwood volleyball team earned a pair of wins over NBC foes last week with a sweep of Genoa and a five-set thriller over Oak Harbor.

In the opener against Genoa, Mack Miller paced Eastwood with 16 kills, while Ivy Schrader had nine. Olivia Riter (5), Schrader (4) and Addyson Leppelmeier (4) combined for 13 aces. Maya Schmeltz and Riter each had one block. Miller (9), Riter (8), Schrader (7), Macey White (6), Stella Chlebowski (5), and Lyla Meter (4) combined for 39 digs in a balanced defensive attack. Riter led the team with 28 assists.

In the 25-27, 27-29, 27-25, 25-22, 15-12 win over Oak Harbor, Miller had a career-best 31 kills to go along with 17 digs. White added 24 digs, and Riter had 46 assists. Ivy Schrader added eight kills and four aces, while Vanessa Evans (4 kills, 5 blocks), Schmeltz (3 kills, 4 blocks) and Braily Moenter (2 kills, 4 blocks) also contributed to the win.

The Eagles (4-1, 2-0 NBC) will face Lake on Tuesday and Rossford on Thursday.

The Lake volleyball team picked up a pair of straight-set wins over Fostoria and Genoa last week.

Lake was led offensively against Fostoria by Kennedy Falkenberg (9), Lucy Boos (7) and Mylah Vorst (7), who combined for 23 terminations. Caity Extine added five, and Harlow Haberland contributed four. Boos added an impressive nine aces, while Laynie Meadows (10), Calli Conley (8) and Boos (6) combined for 24 digs. Savanna Saunders (15) and Boos (14) tallied a combined 29 assists.

Vorst (8), Falkenberg (7), and Meadows (6) led the way offensively with 21 kills against Genoa. Conley and Saunders each had four aces, while Haberland and Boos had one block apiece. Conley (11), Boos (8), Meadows (8), and Saunders (7) combined for 34 digs, while Saunders and Boos each had 13 assists.

The Flyers (5-1, 2-0 NBC) will face Eastwood on Tuesday and Maumee on Thursday.

The Oak Harbor volleyball team earned a four-set win over Otsego to open last week before suffering a heartbreaking five-set loss to Eastwood.

Against Otsego, Oak Harbor was led offensively by Alayna Hall (14), Myley Sandwisch (12) and Tatum Baumgartner (11), who combined for 37 kills. Sandwisch added six of the team’s 14 aces, along with 17 digs and 28 assists to finish off a triple-double. Hall and Baumgartner each had two blocks, while Ava Lynch had 30 digs and 10 assists for a double-double.

In the classic against Eastwood, Hall (21), Sandwisch (19) and Baumgartner (13) combined for 53 terminations, while Morgan Lalonde had eight. Sandwisch led the team in aces with four, and she finished off another triple-double with 16 digs and 29 assists. For good measure, Sandwisch also tied Maddie Schiets for the team-best in blocks with one. Defensively, Lynch (24), Bella Rios (15), Lalonde (14), and Baumgartner (13) teamed with Sandwisch to produce 82 of the team’s 88 digs. Rios added 23 assists.

The Rockets (6-2, 1-1 NBC) will be back in action Tuesday against Rossford and Thursday against Fostoria.

The Clay volleyball team went 2-2 during a busy week that included NLL wins over Southview and Napoleon, as well as two-set non-league losses to Archbishop Hoban and Avon.

Eme Goetz (12) and Maddie Franke (9) combined for 21 terminations against Southview, while Leah Hazuda picked up five aces. Halle Brenot and Goetz each had one block. In digs, Hazuda (10), Franke (8) and Jadyn Kennedy (6) combined for 24, while Hayden Rodriguez had 25 assists.

Goetz had another big day against Napoleon, slamming down 16 terminations, while Hazuda (6) and Franke (5) combined for 11. Goetz (5) and Kennedy (4) had nine of the team’s 14 aces, and Goetz led the team with two blocks. Franke and Kennedy each had nine digs, while Rodriguez and Hazuda each had seven. Rodriguez led the Eagles with 26 assists.

Against Hoban, Clay was led by Franke and Goetz with eight kills apiece. Franke and Kennedy each had one ace. Leah Franke had a team-best five blocks, while Maddie Franke had 10 digs. Rodriguez dished out 19 helpers.

Goetz (9), Maddie Franke (8) and Leah Hazuda (5) combined for 22 of the team’s 24 kills against Avon. Hazuda and Goetz split the team’s two blocks, Kennedy had 10 digs, and Rodriguez had 20 assists.

The Eagles will be back in action Tuesday against Whitmer and Thursday against Springfield.

The Woodmore volleyball team dropped a trio of matches to Margaretta, Cardinal Stritch and Fremont St. Joe last week.

Ariana Florio led the Wildcats with 12 kills against Margaretta, while Karli Heins and Lacey Lipstraw each had seven. Florio also led the squad with four aces, and Heins led the defensive attack with five blocks, although Florio and Lipstraw had three apiece. Florio produced a solid 35 digs, while Samantha Bush, Lipstraw and Payton Whitcum each had 14. Vida Guillen (17) and Bush (12) combined for 29 of the team’s 30 assists.

Florio (7), Lipstraw (6) and Emily Lang (4) combined for 17 kills against Stritch. Whitcum and Florio combined for four of the team’s six aces, while Lang and Florio evenly split eight blocks. Florio (13) and Whitcum (11) combined for 14 digs, while Guillen had 15 assists.

Against SJCC, Lipstraw and Heins each had five kills to lead the team, while Florio added five aces. Lipstraw stuffed three shots, while Guillen led the team in digs (13) and assists (19).

The Wildcats (2-4, 1-1) will be back in action Tuesday at Tiffin Calvert and Thursday against Gibsonburg.

The Gibsonburg volleyball team fell to Hopewell-Loudon for the first defeat of the season, but responded with a straight-set win over Northwood to conclude the week.

In the opener, Ava Dawson (13, Leah Hall (9) and Riley Gressman (7) combined for 29 kills. Dawson finished off her double-double with a team-best 13 digs, while Katie Hall (8) and Gressman (7) combined for 15. Mackenzie Muntz and Brooklyn Smith each had six. The combo of Katie Hall (16) and Smith (10) had 26 assists. Gressman (4) and Muntz (2) had six blocks.

Leah Hall had a team-best 10 kills while adding seven digs against the Rangers. Dawson added eight kills, nine digs and three aces. Emma Jividen had 10 digs. Muntz chipped in three aces, and Katie Hall had two blocks.

The Golden Bears (4-1, 3-1) will face Lakota on Tuesday and Woodmore on Thursday.

The Stritch volleyball team swept Woodmore to open the week before capturing an exciting five-set win over Emmanuel Christian to conclude the week. In the win over the Wildcats, Gabby Cathers had a match-best 10 kills, while Olivia Ford (9), Carlie White (8) and Jasmine Peek (6) combined for 23. Cathers had four aces, while White and Hayden Mathena each had two stuffs. Morgan Kennedy chipped in a match-best 13 digs, and Mathena produced 29 assists. No stats were reported for the Emmanuel Christian match. The Cardinals (4-1, 1-0) are slated to face Vanlue Tuesday and Ottawa Hills on Thursday.

The Genoa volleyball team went 1-2 last week with a straight-set win over Delta, which followed straight-set losses against Eastwood and Lake.

In the victory over the Panthers, Riley Sinift (9) and Makenna Moritz (7) combined for 16 kills, while the Comets racked up 16 aces as a team, led by Moritz (5) and Lucy Schlageter (4). Vivian Clement had a team-best two blocks, and Charli Magnone had nine digs. Moritz contributed nine assists.

Mortiz led the Comets with seven kills, two aces, six digs and five assists against Eastwood. Clement had the team’s lone block, while Magnone contributed nine digs. Schlageter had a team-best seven assists. Moritz once again led the team in terminations with six against Lake, while four players had one ace apiece. Moritz and Clement split the team’s two blocks, Magnone had 11 digs, and the combo of Moritz and Schlageter evenly split 12 assists.

The Comets (3-2, 0-2 NBC) will face Maumee on Tuesday and Otsego on Thursday.

The Waite volleyball team fell in three sets to Rogers to open the week, but captured a thrilling five-set win over Put-in-Bay to conclude the week. No results or stats were reported.

The Northwood volleyball team suffered a pair of straight-set losses to Lakota and Gibsonburg last week. No results or stats were reported.
