Genoa (11-3, 5-1 NBC) pushed its winning streak to eight straight and 10 of its past 11 with victories over Rossford (58-21) and Start (35-32).

The Comets took care of business early against Rossford, jumping out to a 22-9 lead after one. In fact, they scored more points in the first quarter than they allowed the entire game (21). Addi Moritz poured in a game-best 19 points, while Schlageter scored eight of her 10 points in the opening quarter. Makenna Moritz added 12 points, including nine in the second quarter.

In a physical battle with Start, Genoa picked up a big win behind 12 points from Makenna Moritz, who scored six points in her team’s 15-point fourth quarter. Addi Moritz and Keira Combs added seven points apiece, and Schlageter had five.

Oak Harbor (10-4, 7-0 NBC) picked up a pair of league wins over Eastwood (48-22) and Lake (52-31).

After a low-scoring first half, Oak Harbor exploded for 27 points in the third quarter of the win over Eastwood. Karder Haas had 14 of her game-high 17 points in the third quarter, while Brooke Tabbert and Reghan Markley added 10 points apiece. Haylee Robinson nearly reached double figures before finishing with nine.

Oak Harbor scored six points in the game’s first 40 seconds on a trio of layups en route to the win over Lake. Markley had a team-best 16 points, while Haas and Tabbert had 13 apiece. Four others scored, as well, including Kendall Gaines with four.

Gibsonburg (9-3, 7-0 SBC) added two more victories to its resume, knocking off Old Fort (68-32) and St. Mary Central Catholic (62-19).

Elly Evarts and Emma Jividen each recorded a game-best 20 points in the win over Old Fort. For Jividen, it was a new career-high in points, and she added three rebounds and two assists. Evarts also had eight assists, seven rebounds, and five steals. Leah Hall added nine points, five rebounds, four assists, and four steals, while Ava Dawson had nine points, three steals, three assists, and two rebounds.

Gibsonburg saw Evarts produce a game-best 21 points along with eight steals, six rebounds, and four assists as she outscored St. Mary Central Catholic all by herself. Dawson added 10 points and four rebounds, while Hall had seven points and six rebounds.

Lake (7-7, 2-5 NBC) dropped a pair of games to Maumee (59-45) and Oak Harbor (52-31) last week.

Brooke Wiley poured in a team-high 21 points against Maumee, which included an 8-of-10 performance from the foul line. Paige Allen added 13 points, and Gabby Moreno had six points.

Wiley tallied a game-high 18 points against Oak Harbor, including 11 in the fourth quarter. Moreno added five points, while Allen and Rowan Brossia had three apiece.

Eastwood (6-5, 4-3 NBC) split a pair of games during the week, falling to Oak Harbor (48-22) before defeating Rossford 65-35.

Karly Wasserman and Ava Kachmarik each had a team-best five points against Oak Harbor, while Gracyn Reiter added four. Kenna Nelson and Lauren Schuerman had three each. Mack Miller had eight rebounds.

Wasserman registered a game-best 16 points and seven steals in a win over Rossford, while the trio of Kenna Nelson (14), Reiter (12), and Karissa Nelson (12) combined for 38 points. Schuerman buried a pair of triples for eight points. Karissa Nelson dished out six assists, while Kenna Nelson and Miller had five steals each. The Eagles scored 26 points in the second quarter, led by eight each from Reiter and Kenna Nelson.

Cardinal Stritch (4-8, 1-2 TAAC) split a pair of games last week, defeating Perry (39-5) and falling to Ottawa Hills (69-42).

Amaya Hill flirted with a triple-double against Perry, registering 12 points, 15 rebounds, and seven steals. Morgan Kennedy added eight points, seven steals, and three rebounds. Additionally, Erin Carbe pulled down 13 rebounds and scored six points. Makayla “KK” Miltz had a game-best eight steals along with six points and six rebounds, while Alivia Castro had six rebounds and three steals. The Cardinals had 25 steals as a team.

Stats weren’t available for the Ottawa Hills game.

Woodmore (8-3, 6-1 SBC) pushed its winning streak to six straight and eight of nine with victories over Lakota (54-19) and Danbury (41-25).

The win over Lakota on Jan. 7, which was Woodmore’s first game since Dec. 22, featured nine points apiece from Kelsey Kaylor and Camille Strong. The Wildcats jumped out to a 16-4 lead and led 30-6 at the half.

Woodmore used a 15-3 second quarter advantage to seize control against Danbury as Kaylor scored a game-best 17 points. Strong added 10 points.

Northwood (1-9, 1-5 SBC) dropped a pair of games to Swanton (49-36) and SJCC (38-29). Stats weren’t reported.

Waite (0-10, 0-3 City League) dropped a pair of games to Rogers (61-16) and Open Door Christian (52-24). Stats weren’t reported.

Clay (1-9, 1-3 NLL) picked up its first win of the season with a 51-29 victory over Springfield. They also lost to Toledo Christian (67-25) earlier in the week. Stats weren’t reported.
