Here is the results of the first week of the boys soccer season. This is for games played through Aug. 18.

Genoa routs Huron in season opener behind Kutchenriter

Jayden Kutchenriter totaled six goals to lead Genoa to a season-opening 10-1 win over Huron on Aug. 15. 

Gavin Goodman added a pair of goals, while Max Huss and Josh Caughorn chipped in one apiece.

Joey Caughorn, who made a big save early on a penalty kick attempt to preserve a 1-0 lead, got the win in goal for the Comets.

Genoa will be back in action Wednesday at Eastwood.

Lake rebounds behind Snyder’s record performance

Preston Snyder helped the Lake boys soccer team respond to a tough season opening loss in a big way on Saturday, delivering a school-record-tying six goals in his team’s 8-0 win over Pettisville under the lights of his home field.

The Flyers opened the season on the road Friday with an 8-0 loss at Springfield.

Head coach Chad Lillich and his Lake squad (1-1) will continue their season Wednesday at Van Buren. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

Flower nets winner for Oak Harbor

Xavier Flower produced the game's lone goal to help Oak Harbor record a 1-0 win on the road over Port Clinton in Monday's season opener.

The Rockets are back in action at home on Thursday against Edison beginning at 7 p.m.

Eastwood drops season opener

The Eastwood boys soccer team suffered a 6-1 defeat to Huron in their season opener on Monday. They'll be back in action on Wednesday at home against Genoa at 5 p.m.

Woodmore falls in season opener

Woodmore was defeated 7-1 by Riverdale in its season opener on Saturday.

The Wildcats were playing their first match after not having a program the past two seasons.

Woodmore is back in action at Clyde on Thursday.

Northwood toppled by Otsego in season opener

Northwood  dropped its season opener 5-3 on the road Saturday at Otsego.

Danny Genzman scored in the 16th and 20th minutes, while Alex Hagemann produced the team's third goal in the 51st minute.

The Rangers are back in action Tuesday, hosting Edison.

Clay falls in season opener

Clay was defeated 2-1 in a home matchup against St. Marys Memorial on Aug. 15.

The Eagles return to action Tuesday at Southview before hosting Ottawa Hills on Thursday.
