Here is the results of the second week of the girlssoccer season. This is for matches played through Aug. 25. Information is gathered via MaxPreps, coach email submissions and team social media accounts. A lack of individual stats listed means none of those sources provided that information.
The Oak Harbor girls soccer team won two of their three matchups this past week, including a pair of shutout victories over Upper Sandusky (6-0) and Otsego (5-0). They lost 4-0 to Liberty-Benton in their other match.
Against Upper Sandusky, Emma Lewis and Claire Blausey each had two goals, while Skyler Schultz and Kendall Gaines split the other two. Blausey, Gaines, Lewis, Kaitlyn Meloche and Abby Coutcher tallied the team’s assists, while Haylee Robinson had three saves in goal.
In the win over Otsego, Lewis secured a hat trick, while Gaines and Olivia May added one apiece. Meloche had two assists, while Gaines and Sophie Nyzc had one apiece. Robinson stopped three shots once again.
Robinson had six saves in goal against Liberty-Benton.
The Rockets (3-1) are slated to host Eastwood on Wednesday in a crucial NBC meeting.
The Woodmore girls soccer team opened the season in dominant fashion with a 5-0 win over Lake and a 6-1 victory over Edison.
Kelsey Kaylor had a hat trick in both games. Izzy Helmke and Camille Strong added one goal apiece against Lake, while Willow Lewis (3) and Karli Heins (1) combined for four assists. Abbie Schmeltz made seven saves in goal.
Against Edison, Helmke, Valerie Kerecz and Taylor Hill also scored. Lewis had a trio of assists, and Karli Heins added another. Schmeltz stopped three shots in goal.
The Wildcats (2-0) are slated to host Huron on Wednesday before traveling to Evergreen on Saturday.
The Genoa girls soccer team stayed undefeated through three games with an 8-0 win over Springfield and a 2-2 tie against Eastwood.
In the matchup against Eastwood on Aug. 20, Izzy West’s equalizer in the final 15 minutes helped Genoa earn a tie. Freshman Lauren Hoeft also scored for the Comets. Each team scored one goal in each half.
Genoa concluded the week with a resounding win over Springfield that featured four goals from Adrianna Williams. Malani Smith scored the initial goal 15 seconds into the match, and Tatum Szych added another a short time later. Isabella Sondergeld scored her first career goal for a five-goal lead at the half, and Lyla Edens scored the final goal.
The Comets (2-0-1) will host Lake on Wednesday and Van Buren on Saturday.
The Eastwood girls soccer team went 1-0-1 on the week with a win over Van Buren Monday night, which followed a 2-2 tie against Genoa on Aug. 20.
Against Genoa, Karly Wasserman and Lauren Schuerman each put one into the back of the net, while Karissa Nelson and Ava Kachmarik assisted on those. Kaitlin Abbey made 13 saves in goal.
Against Van Buren, Schuerman tallied another goal, while Piper Sutton scored the other one. Nelson and Josie Appelhans each had an assist. Abbey made four saves in goal.
The Eagles (2-0-1) will travel to Oak Harbor on Wednesday before hosting Delta on Saturday.
The Lake girls soccer team picked up its first win of the season on Saturday, finishing the week 1-1.
Lake was shut out in a week-opening loss to Woodmore, but Serenity Cappelletty made six saves in goal.
Lake bounced back with a 3-0 win over Ottawa Hills in their home opener on Saturday. Freshman Sagan Schroyer produced her first career hat trick, while Allie Byington and Brooke Wiley each had an assist. Cappelletty made five saves in goal.
The Flyers (1-1-1) are slated to face Genoa on the road Wednesday in their lone game of the week.
The Clay girls soccer team battled to a scoreless draw against Southview on Aug. 20 before falling 2-0 at Northview on Aug. 25.

The Eagles (0-1-2) will be back in action Wednesday at Napoleon and Saturday at Amherst Steele.
The Northwood girls soccer team dropped a trio of matches to Edison, Port Clinton, and Sandusky this past week.
