LAKE 35, ROSSFORD 7
Lake (1-4, 1-1 NBC) produced its first win of the season behind several key performances. Julian Rodriguez rushed 25 times for 167 yards and a pair of touchdowns. KJ Magers completed 16-of-19 passes for 136 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Gavin Kohlhofer, Xavier Scott, and Rodriguez each had one receiving touchdown, as well.
Kohlhofer had a team-best 83 yards receiving, while Scott had 55. Jaxson Rymers caught five passes for 51 yards, while Scott completed one pass for 57 yards and a touchdown.
EASTWOOD 49, FOSTORIA 7
Brayden Brown rushed 20 times for 126 yards and four touchdowns to lead Eastwood (4-1, 2-0 NBC) to a convincing win over Fostoria.
After Brown scored the game’s first touchdown, quarterback Brayden Luidhardt found Cam Schumaker and Brady Ramlow on back-to-back touchdown passes that spanned the first two quarters.
Brown then added two more scores before the half as Eastwood led 35-0 at the break. He added his fourth score early in the third quarter before Logan Brown’s five-yard touchdown completed the scoring for the Eagles before the end of the third quarter.
Luidhardt finished 16-of-23 for 188 yards and two touchdowns. Edmund Opfer had team-highs in receptions (7) and yards (90), while Schumaker had six catches for 45 yards.
Defensively, Logan Brown led Eastwood with 4.5 tackles, while Xander Lauer had 3.5. Opfer and Landon Weemes each had 2.5. Hunter Lauer registered a sack.
OAK HARBOR 36, OTSEGO 14
Oak Harbor (5-0, 2-0 NBC) scored at least once in each quarter to produce their fifth win in an undefeated start to the season.
The backfield tandem of Blake Nickel and Travis Bouyer had big games. Nickel rushed 27 times for 163 yards and two touchdowns, while Bouyer had 12 carries for 105 yards and three scores.
Breydan Porath completed 14-of-17 passes for 107 yards, including nine for 69 yards to Wyatt Augsburger. Braden Schultz and Hayden McGee each had one sack.
The Rockets jumped out to a 20-0 lead and never trailed.
GENOA 27, MAUMEE 23
Genoa (4-1, 2-0 NBC) overcame an injury to running back Luke Clement to produce a tight win over Maumee.
Myles Mollenhauer connected with Alex Materni for the game-winning 33-yard touchdown pass with 6:17 left. Mollenhauer finished 9-of-19 for 166 yards. His fourth quarter strike was his lone touchdown.
Before being injured, Clement had nine carries for 44 yards and a touchdown. Ryan Routson added six carries for 57 yards and a score, while Materni added eight carries for 58 yards and a touchdown.
Jaxon Magnone had 84 yards receiving on four receptions. Both were team-highs.
Defensively, Logan Routson (15) and Materni (13) combined for 28 tackles in big performances. Clement (9), Evan Millner (7), and Tyler Abbey (6) added 22 tackles.
CLAY 49, BOWSHER 6
Clay (3-2, 2-1 NLL) exploded for 28 points in the first quarter and led 42-0 at halftime while cruising to an easy victory over Bowsher.
Collin Greenawalt’s 23-yard run and Jimmy Derr’s 12-yard run provided the first two scores. Brannan Vargas added a 10-yard interception return, and Jonny Kamelesky tacked on a four-yard run to finish the quarter.
Landon Echelberry then found Max Morrison and JJ Medina for second-quarter touchdowns. Vargas tacked on his second touchdown in the final quarter.
Echelberry passed for 84 yards and ran for 50 more. Greenawalt added five carries for 69 yards. Brodi Ostrander had a team-high 34 yards receiving, while Carter Walendzak added 23 yards.
The Eagles produced 18 first downs compared to just three for Bowsher while outproducing them in yards 291-90.
HOPEWELL-LOUDON 25, GIBSONBURG 0
Gibsonburg (3-2, 1-1 SBC) trailed just 6-0 at halftime but wasn’t able to manage any points in suffering a shutout loss at home. Grant Smith rushed 21 times for 81 yards, and Reece Walby added 10 carries for 38 yards. Defensively, Smith had 12 tackles, while Luke Foster added six. Walby (4) and Aiden Morant (3) also combined for seven tackles, while Smith and Foster evenly split three tackles for loss.
WOODMORE 62, WILLARD 20
Landon Rich rushed 22 times for 190 yards and four touchdowns for Woodmore (5-0, 2-0 SBC), who didn’t submit stats this week.
MARGARETTA 49, NORTHWOOD 14
Northwood (2-3, 0-2 SBC) fell on the road as John Sawyer and Ethan Leonard had touchdown runs. The Rangers did not submit stats this week.
