GIBSONBURG 45, NORTHWOOD 8
The rushing duo of Grant Smith and Reece Walby combined for 294 yards as Gibsonburg picked up a big win over Northwood. Smith totaled 163 yards and two touchdowns, while Walby had 131 yards and three touchdowns. Walby also added an interception return for a touchdown. Northwood was led by Skyler Rita, who had 18 carries for 88 yards and a touchdown. The Golden Bears scored the game’s final 37 points.
EASTWOOD 41, ROSSFORD 0
Eastwood jumped out to a 34-0 lead at the half en route to an easy win over Rossford. Several individuals had big days for the Eagles, including Brayden Brown, who had 17 carries for 76 yards and three touchdowns. Quarterback Brayden Luidhardt went 15-of-16 passing for 259 yards and three touchdowns. Edmund Opfer caught seven passes for 124 yards and a touchdown, and Cam Schumaker compiled 90 yards receiving on six receptions with two touchdowns. Defensively, Landen Simon had five tackles to lead Eastwood.
GENOA 36, OTSEGO 21
A 15-0 advantage in the second quarter for Genoa proved to be the difference in a big win over Otsego. After Otsego’s Grady Frank and Genoa’s Luke Clement traded first-quarter touchdowns, the Comets got a 25-yard touchdown run from Clement and a one-yard touchdown run from quarterback Myles Mollenhauer in the second quarter. On the second one, which came with just over four minutes until the half, Ryan Routson completed a two-point conversion pass to Hunter Bickel for a 22-7 lead. Clement added two more touchdowns in the second half to hold off the Knights, as the running back finished with 122 yards on 14 carries and four touchdowns. The Comets produced 284 of their 315 total yards offensively on the ground.
OAK HARBOR 49, FOSTORIA 6
Oak Harbor, which led 42-0 at halftime, produced all 332 yards of its offensive production on the ground in an easy win over Fostoria. Kason Marshall ran 14 times for 118 yards and two touchdowns, while Blake Nickel had seven carries for 81 yards and three touchdowns. Travis Bouyer chipped in four carries for 68 yards and a touchdown, and Braylon Johnson ran for 44 yards and one touchdown. Bouyer also led the Rockets defensively with four tackles.
NAPOLEON 23, CLAY 15
Clay lost a tough battle to Napoleon, which held the Eagles to just 74 yards rushing while compiling 202 yards of their own on the ground. Landon Echelberry produced 244 yards passing to lead Clay, who also got three receptions for 56 yards from Carter Walendzak. The duo connected for a second-quarter touchdown, and Clay added its other score on a two-yard rumble from Collin Greenawalt in the fourth quarter.
WOODMORE 42, LAKOTA 6
In no surprise at all, Landon Rich had another huge game for Woodmore in their latest win during an undefeated start to the season. The running back scored three of his fourth touchdowns in a 28-point second quarter for the Wildcats on the way to finishing with 243 yards on 22 carries. Calvin Lipstraw found Michael Seeger for the other first-half touchdown, and the quarterback finished 10-of-11 for 227 yards and two touchdowns. The other scoring strike was to Wesley Kayser, who had four catches for 75 yards. Robert Seeger also produced 74 yards on two receptions.
WAITE 38, ROGERS 6
Waite produced its first victory of the season behind Dayveon Holman’s 287 all-purpose yards. He rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries, while adding an 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and a 52-yard punt return score. Kaiden Ferguson added a 17-yard rushing touchdown. Terron Belle had a 17-yard touchdown reception. Takhi Myers had 17 carries for 73 yards. Carl Foard passed for one touchdown. Myell Carter had 17 tackles along with a fumble recovery for a touchdown.
MAUMEE 27, LAKE 20
Julian Rodriguez had 179 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries for Lake in a tough loss to Maumee, which produced a two-yard touchdown pass from Ben Kubicz to Brock Heard with 8:34 left in the fourth for the winning margin.
