Genoa (15-0, 8-0 NBC) continued an undefeated start to its season with victories over Eastwood (77-46), Fostoria (79-38), and Keystone (74-69).
Ryan Routson engineered the Comets with a game-best 20 points, including an 11-of-12 performance from the foul line, in the win over Eastwood, while Walter Plantz added 17 points, including 7-of-10 from the charity stripe. Jax Magnone score 13 points, and Myles Mollenhauer had nine. A fun highlight late in the game was a 3-pointer from Brock Matthews.
While Plantz had a game-high 21 points against Fostoria, Ty Asman poured in 17 points on a trio of 3-pointers, and Mollenhauer added 14 points. Routson and Jacob Woollard had eight apiece.
The Comets then traveled to Castalia for the Tourney Tune-Up, where they knocked off a tough Keystone team behind a game-best 31 points from Walter Plantz. Routson (14) and Magnone (13) combined for 27 points, and Woollard had seven.
Clay (11-3, 7-2 NLL) dropped a pair of league contests to Bowling Green (63-53) and Anthony Wayne (52-50).
Grant Oberdick registered a team-high 21 points against Bowling Green, while Quimari Buffaloe had 14 and Aiden Berryman had 12. The trio combined for 47 of the team’s 53 points.
Gibsonburg (14-2, 9-1 SBC) reeled off three more wins, including contests against Danbury (87-47), Old Fort (56-62 in OT), and Lakota (73-58).
Reece Walby registered 25 points, seven assists, seven steals, and three rebounds in the win over Danbury, while the group of Aiden Morant (19), Hunter Wasserman (16), Xander Zimmerman (12), and Chuy Rodriguez (11) combined for 58 points. Wasserman finished a double-double with 11 rebounds, three assists, and two steals, while Rodriguez (8) and Morant (6) combined for 14 rebounds. Morant also had six assists, and Grant Smith tallied four points, five steals, four rebounds, and two assists.
Gibsonburg outscored Old Fort 9-5 in overtime to pick up a key league win. Walby had another all-around performance with 21 points, eight steals, seven rebounds, and two assists, while Morant (13) and Wasserman (12) totaled 25 points. Wasserman and Rodriguez had six rebounds each.
The victory over Lakota included 17 points apiece from Walby and Morant, while Luke Foster had 11 and Zimmerman had 10. Rodriguez (9) and Wasserman (8) totaled 17 points. Wasserman also pulled down a game-best 14 rebounds, while Walby added nine rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Foster also had six rebounds.
Lake (13-2, 6-2 NBC) knocked off Rossford (75-35) and Oak Harbor (60-42), pushing its overall win streak to eight straight.
Carter Behlmer poured in a game-high 21 points in the win over Rossford, although Preston Snyder scored 16 points to become just the fourth boys basketball player in Lake history to reach 1,000 career points. Jace Ayers (11) and Xavier Scott (10) added 21 total, while Jack Sobczak had seven.
Ayers netted a game-high 23 points in the win over Oak Harbor, while Behlmer had 13 and Snyder had nine. Sobczak chipped in seven. The Flyers pulled away with a 25-8 third quarter advantage.
Woodmore (7-9, 5-4 SBC) went 1-2 on the week, knocking off Northwood (73-47) before falling to Oak Harbor (50-39) and Lakota (49-43).
The victory over Northwood saw a 39-16 scoring advantage in the second half for the Wildcats, who got a game-high 32 points from Carson Slates on six 3-pointers. Gavin Donley added 13 points.
Tied at 37 late, Woodmore saw Oak Harbor score 13 of the game’s final 15 points. Donley scored 15 points, including 10 in the first half, and Slates added 12 points, including nine in the first half. The Wildcats had 14 points in the second half.
Late lack of offense proved troublesome against Lakota, too, as Woodmore scored just two points in the final 4:21 of the game in a six-point loss. It also came after they led 38-29 just 16 seconds into the fourth quarter. Slates poured in 19 points as the lone player in double figures.
Oak Harbor (7-9, 4-5) NBC) had a busy, successful stretch with wins over Lakota (54-45), Otsego (48-46), Woodmore (50-39), and Fostoria (62-40), while falling to Lake (60-42).
The Rockets used a 16-4 scoring advantage in the fourth quarter in the win over Lakota as Zach Hallett tallied a game-high 23 points. Carson Steinbrick added 15, while Brayden Ayres had five.
The upset over Otsego, which came in with just one league loss, saw the trio of Hallett (14), Braxtin Witt (11), and Ayres (11) score 36 of the team’s 48 points. Steinbrick (6) and Alex Rife (4) totaled 10 more. The Rockets led 39-30 through three quarters before hanging on for the two-point win.
Ayres and Hallett each scored 13 points on a combined 12-of-18 finish from the foul line against Woodmore, while Zayne Brooks, Witt, and Rife had seven apiece. Another fourth quarter advantage (17-7) helped the Rockets in the win.
Oak Harbor’s lone loss came against Lake, where a 25-8 third quarter scoring disadvantage buried the Rockets. Hallett had a team-high 16 points and was the lone player to reach double figures, although Steinbrick (8), Rife (6), and Ayres (5) combined for 19.
Ayres finished 9-of-13 from the foul line on the way to a game-best 21 points against Fostoria. Witt (14), Steinbrick (13), and Hallett (10) combined for 37.
Cardinal Stritch (9-9, 4-2 TAAC) also had a successful and busy stretch, picking up victories in four of five contests. Wins included Delta (44-43), Ottawa Hills (52-26), St. Mary Central Catholic (50-43), and Vanlue (78-23), and the loss came against Maumee Valley (77-58).
Erick Graham and Dennis Clark registered 12 points apiece in a tough win over Delta, which included 10 fourth quarter points from Clark. Xavier Blackman (7) and King Wilson Jr. (6) added 13 total.
The win over Ottawa Hills featured a game-high 18 points from Wilson Jr., along with 13 from Clark and 12 from Graham. Blackman added seven points.
Graham poured in 18 points against St. Mary CC, while the group of Rasean Gordon (9), Clark (8), Blackman (8), and Wilson Jr. (7) rounded out the scoring.
Blackman registered a team-best 21 points in the lone loss to Maumee Valley. Graham had 10 points, while the group of Clark (9), Wilson Jr. (8), and Gordon (7) combined for 24 points.
The Cardinals responded with a win against Vanlue behind 18 points apiece from Clark and Wilson Jr., as well as 17 from Graham and 14 from Blackman.
Eastwood (6-4, 3-2 NBC) went 3-1 during the two-week stretch, defeating Liberty-Benton (63-61), Rossford (66-48), and Otsego (65-48), while falling to Genoa (77-46).

Schumaker added six rebounds.
