The Northwood Jr. Rangers and cheerleaders ran a relay Oct. 23 as part of Make a Difference Day.
The event, promoted by the Northwood Community Improvement Corporation, was a way to support those fighting cancer, letting them know they aren’t alone. The team, cheerleaders, and coaches ran a 50-yard relay carrying one of two pink footballs. One football will be displayed at the Northwood Community Center, and the other will be presented to a member of the community fighting cancer.
The group also planted trees at Nature Trails Park and Pack 244 is building bird houses that will be donated to Northwood.
Northwood Student Council will also be planting a tree donated by the Northwood Tree Commission.
