Magruder Hospital Auxiliary held its Annual Auxiliary Meeting and Volunteer Recognition event April 25 in the Conference Center.
President Ann Lewis presided over the noon luncheon meeting, catered by Magruder’s Fulton Street Café and served by Magruder leadership staff.
The auxiliary thanked volunteers for their 10,460 hours of service to the hospital in 2024. These 80 women and men supported hospital operations by greeting patients, families and visitors; by calling, escorting and transporting patients to procedures, surgery, clinics and other hospital-based treatments; staffing the Gift Shop and hospitality cart, as well as sewing repairs and creating seasonal patient tray items.
Forty-one volunteers were recognized for cumulative hours of service over the years, ranging from 100 hours to 4,500 hours, which was achieved by Vanda Wahlers.
The Auxiliary presented a check for $15,000 to the hospital from the proceeds of their fundraising efforts. The funds go toward employee recognition efforts throughout the year. Another $16,000 will be presented as scholarships to high school students in Ottawa County who will be pursuing careers in healthcare.
The afternoon concluded with a presentation by Pam and Brian Griebel on their year-long boating adventure doing the Great Loop.
