Local author’s children’s book benefits Planned Pethood

Posted

Local author Deb Weilnau has released “Marnie’s Message,” an illustrated children’s book inspired by rescue, healing, and second chances.

The story follows Marnie, a gentle mama dog and her puppies, as they find safety, learn to trust again and discover that family can be built in many ways.

Marnie’s story is rooted in real life. She and her puppies were part of Toledo-based Planned Pethood, Inc.’s rescue program, making the book a heartfelt tribute to the resilience of animals and the impact of compassionate care, along with the importance of rescue.

In support of that mission, $1 from every copy sold will be donated to Planned Pethood, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to saving cats and dogs through rescue, adoption, spay/neuter programs, and community education.

“Marnie’s Message” is currently available on Amazon and at select local bookstores, and recently achieved Amazon Top New Release status.

The book reflects themes of kindness, empathy, and hope, making it meaningful for families, educators, and animal lovers alike. Weilnau is also open to book readings, retail partnerships, and community collaborations.
