On a glorious Easter Day, Lila K. (Miranda) James was called home to be with her Lord and Savior.
Lila was born on October 30, 1931 to Henry and Della Miranda. She attended Waite High School.
She married Arvin Lee James in 1948 and went on to have six children. Lila enjoyed traveling all over the world making friends wherever she went. Her many hobbies included reading Amish themed stories, romance and amateur detective books along with her Bible. She enjoyed puzzles and collecting (bears, puzzles, books, Christmas Villages and more!).
In 1982, when she was 50 years old, she graduated with an Associate Degree in Applied Business/Hospitality Management from Owens Community College. Her family was extremely proud of her. Lila went on to be President of the Luckey American Legion – Unit #240 Woman’s Auxiliary. She was an active member of the former United Brethren Church of Walbridge and recently the Mainstreet Church, Moline, Ohio.
Lila is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years Arvin, daughter Della (Larry) Nelson, son-in-law Mark Berman, great granddaughter Lila Rose Brown, sisters Vivian and Joyce and brothers Henry and Wayne.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Wendell (Deborah) James, Kathy Berman, Lynn (Linda) James, Edward (Christine) James, and Vickie James. 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren will carry on her legacy.
Memorial visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2025 with Services on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sunrise Cremations and Funerals home located at 701 N. Main St., Walbridge, OH 43465. Burial will take place at Lake Township Cemetery following the Service.
