The latest trustees meeting in Lake Township on April 1 featured the approval of nine resolutions, including the replacement of an engine for a 2019 Dodge Charger used by the police department.
The said resolution, 50-2025, authorizes a sum not to exceed $9,500 to replace the engine. Sergeant Matt Mariano said that the bid was the cheapest of two procured by the department. The vehicle has just over 100,000 miles, and he said it was in good condition otherwise.
Trustee Melanie Bowen-Greenwald acknowledged hesitation in approving it.
“That’s a lot of money for a 2019 car,” she said. “However, a new one would cost a whole lot more.”
Ultimately, it was approved.
The trustees also signed off on the hires of Carl Stetter as a seasonal parks worker at the rate of $14.50 per hour effective April 7, and the hiring of Brittany Martin as a paid-per-call EMS member at the hourly rate of $10.70 per hour effective April 1.
Bowen-Greenwald acknowledged the passing of Mike Garrison, the husband of Jean Garrison, and she said there will be a celebration of life on Sunday, April 6 at the Millbury Classic Cars and Truck Museum Banquet Hall from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
