Homicide investigation yields arrest in Port Clinton

Deputies with the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office responded to a deceased persons call at 2641 E. Harbor Road in Port Clinton on or about July 19 at 1:05 p.m., per a press release from the sheriff's office.

After an initial investigation, the incident was determined to be a homicide.

The victim was identified as 86-year-old Warren Taylor of Port Clinton.

The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office conducted an investigation with the assistance of the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Toledo Police Department, and the Ottawa County Prosecutor's Office major crimes unit.

On July 22, 51-year-old Shawn M. Gooden of Toledo was taken into custody and indicted on aggravated murder, murder, aggravated burglary, theft from a protected class, tampering with evidence, and receiving stolen property.

Additionally, a female identified as 34-year-old Iesha Goodell of Toledo was linked to the incident and taken into custody for receiving stolen property. On July 28, she was officially charged with receiving stolen property and complicity to aggravated murder. She is currently being housed at the Ottawa County Correctional Facility as of July 29. Additional charges are pending.

The investigation is ongoing.
