Terra State Community College will host a job and resource fair Wednesday, April 9, from 4-6 p.m., in the Ealine Denman Recktenwald Student Activities Center on the Terra State campus, 2830 Napoleon Rd., Fremont.

Flapjack Fundraiser
“Short Stacks for a Tall Cause,” a flapjack fundraiser to support Northwood High School After Prom, will be held Saturday, April 12 from 8-10 a.m. at Applebee’s, 3007 Curtice Rd., Northwood.
The cost is $10, which includes three pancakes, two slices of bacon, a beverage (coffee, tea, soda, orange juice or milk). Pancakes are all-you-can eat; drinks are refillable. No substitutions.

Chicken BBQ to benefit scholarships
The Oak Harbor Masonic Lodge #495 will present its 22nd annual chicken BBQ fundraiser Sunday, April 27, at the Shelterhouse at Veterans Memorial Park, 300 Finke Rd., Oak Harbor.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward the annual scholarship offered by the lodge to a graduating Oak Harbor High School senior.
Meals, which will be prepared by Roots Chicken of Fremont, will be served from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., or until sold out. Dinners will be served as carryout only. The cost is $15 and includes a half-chicken, baked potato, green beans, roll, butter and brownie.
The dinner is being conducted on a pre-sale basis, however, a limited number of first-come, first-served meals will be available the day of the event.

Penta summer STEM Camps
Penta Career Center is offering summer STEM Camps – an opportunity for local students to explore various careers. Camps are open to students in Penta member districts, including Eastwood, Genoa, Lake, Northwood, Oak Harbor, Perrysburg, Rossford and Woodmore.

Advanced STEM Camps will be offered for grades 6-9. A three-day camp will be presented June 9-11, at a cost of $75. A two-day camp, set for June 12-13, will be offered for $50.
All camps will run from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Oregon Democratic Club Scholarship opportunity
The members of Oregon Democratic Club sponsoring their 3rd Annual scholarship.
All Oregon School District resident seniors, no matter where they attend school, what type of secondary education they might pursue are eligible to apply for the $500 scholarship.
An information packet, which must be completed and returned by Wednesday, April 16, is available online at oregondemocraticclub.com. A 750-word essay concerning how young people can get more involved and participate in American democracy is one requirement.
“We are happy to provide this $500 scholarship and have tremendous belief in the young people in our community,” club president Bob Lynn Jr. said.
Wood SWCD accepting poster contest entries
The National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) and Wood Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) announced the theme for the 2025 Stewardship Week: “Home is Where the Habitat Is.”
This theme highlights the essential role of both natural and managed habitats in our conservation efforts. The Stewardship Week theme is also the poster contest theme.
The Wood SWCD is offering an opportunity for Wood County K-12 students to create a hand-drawn, digital or Braille poster focusing on a stewardship message.

Athletic Boosters Plan Reverse Raffle
The Eastwood Athletic Boosters are conducting a Reverse Raffle Saturday, April 5, at Glass City Boardwalk, 27820 E. Broadway St., Walbridge,
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.; dinner will be served at 6 p.m. The Final Four games for March Madness will be aired at the venue.
Tickets are $100 per person, which includes a full meal and soft drinks; beer and wine are included. Admission is open to ages 21 and older.
Multiple winners will be drawn throughout the night, with the last ticket drawn receiving the $10,000 grand prize. Only 300 tickets will be sold. Winners need not be present.

The French Broad Vignerons – is offering $500 scholarship to students interested in pursuing a career in enology – the science and study of wine and winemaking,
The French Broad Vignerons of Western North Carolina is a nonprofit organization focused on the viticulture and enology education of its members.
Knowledge of vineyard management and winemaking requires dedicated study and real-time experience. From careers in winemaking to distribution sales to sommelier positions at fine restaurants, there are many career opportunities for students passionate in the field. This scholarship aims to support the next generation of wine professionals as they pursue their collegiate studies in the field.
Any undergraduate or graduate student who is studying viticulture or enology may apply for this scholarship if they’re planning to work in the wine industry. Selection criteria includes ambition, drive, and passion for the field of grape growing.

No-cost childcare for children ages 6 weeks through 5 years is available for families working in agriculture fields through the Great Lakes Community Action Partnership (GLCAP) Migrant & Seasonal Head Start (MSHS) program. GLCAP’s MSHS program offers no-cost, full-day early childhood education that focuses on school readiness, socialization, and other important developmental needs for children and families.
Centers are located throughout Ohio in Fremont, Napoleon, New Carlisle, and Shiloh. Daily meals and snacks as well as transportation to and from centers are included.
Families are eligible if a parent or guardian earns more than 50 percent of his or her income from an agriculture profession. This includes harvesting, handling, processing, and other ag-related work.
