Library offers free education legal assistance
The Toledo Lucas County Public Library and Advocates for Basic Legal Equality (ABLE) are helping parents and caregivers advocate for their students’ needs in the public school system.
ABLE attorneys and staff are hosting K-12 Education Legal Assistance Sessions where parents and caregivers can gain insights into key topics such as special education services, disciplinary actions and English language services.
Locally, a session will be held at the Locke Branch Library Tuesday, Aug. 12 from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, Aug. 14 from 10 a.m.-noon.
No appointment is necessary for the free sessions, which are held twice a month at various Toledo Library locations. Each session begins with a presentation by ABLE, followed by a Q & A where Library customers can ask questions.
