GenoaBank held its 27th annual golf outing on Sept. 12 at the Oak Harbor Golf Club in Oak Harbor.

The annual golf scramble provides scholarships to local students planning to major in business at a two or four-year college or university of their choice.

The sold-out event had 38 teams registered, and money raised will benefit the following schools: Cardinal Stritch, Clay, Danbury, Fremont Ross, Genoa, Lake, Maumee, Northwood, Northview, Oak Harbor, Perrysburg, Port Clinton, Put-in-Bay, Rossford, St. Joseph Central Catholic, Southview, Toledo Christian, Waite, and Woodmore.

GenoaBank’s annual golf outing has provided scholarships to approximately 325+ students since it began hosting this annual event.

“Throughout the year, GenoaBank focuses on building relationships with the community; however, we most look forward to the annual golf outing, Martin P. Sutter, President and CEO of GenoaBank, said. “It offers us a chance to bring together local like-minded leaders, businesses, and school administrators who gather with the purpose of giving back and swinging for education excellence.”

The scholarships are presented to students selected by their school who have demonstrated academic success, have an interest in pursuing a higher education, and seeking a degree in finance or business at a two or four year college.  Students at the aforementioned schools should contact their guidance department to be considered for a GenoaBank scholarship.

“We believe the lasting impact for these students has not only been personal development but also provides enhanced stability and growth for their family and for the community as well,” Sutter said. “Thank you to our volunteers, our valued customers, and all the donors and sponsors who continue to support this worthwhile outing.”
