The Clay High School Limelighters will present "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” High School Edition Friday and Saturday, Feb. 7 and 8, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 9, at 3 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
Reserved seating is available online at claylimelighters.org. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for seniors and students. The online ticket portal closes two hours before each performance. Only General Admission seating tickets will be sold at the door. The box office opens 45 minutes before each performance. Concessions will be available at all performances.

Live! In the House
The Pemberville Freedom Area Historical Society will present The Kevin Prater Bluegrass Band in concert Saturday, Feb. 1, at 7:30 p.m. at the Pemberville Opera House, 115 Main St.

Hailing from the mountains of Eastern Kentucky, The Kevin Prater Band delivers their unique “Coal-Fired Pure Kentucky Bluegrass” with additions of classic country, grassed-up vintage rock, original songs and emotion-filled bluegrass gospel music. The band is recognized and has been lauded for their stellar harmonies and a cappella singing.

Singing Valentines
The “Voices of Harmony” chorus, part of the Northwest Ohio Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, is preparing to fill the hearts (and email in-boxes) of area residents with the sound of four-part harmony as they deliver singing Valentines on Friday, Feb. 14.
A limited number of in-person singing Valentines, with quartets performing one song and delivering a rose and personalized card, will be available throughout Northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan at a cost of $50. For an additional $10, a gourmet cupcake can be added to the in-person delivery.
A phone package, which includes a live song and message delivered over the phone, is being offered for $15.

Virtual book club
National Museum of the Great Lakes will present a virtual book club discussing “Trouble Island,” by Sharon Short, Tuesday, Feb. 4 at noon.

‘Art of the Cut’ returns to TMA
The Toledo Museum of Art announced the return of “Art of the Cut,” an event that highlights the artistry and community impact of barbers and hair stylists.
The community is invited to join TMA on Sunday, Feb. 23, from 4-6 p.m. in the Peristyle Theater for an afternoon of art, dialogue, and connection.
This year’s “Art of the Cut” will celebrate the powerful roles of barbers and hair stylists, who not only shape hair but also build trust, promote wellness and elevate vital conversations about mental and physical health. This program is made possible through joint sponsorship with ProMedica.
The event will feature live hair styling on stage and an open conversation with barbers, hair stylists and community voices. Hosts will include professionals from CrysStyles Hair Salon, DaShop, Fletcher’s Hair Design, Foster’s Hair Concepts Unlimited, Tal-Mon Barbershop, Victory Barbershop, and many more. Attendees can also enjoy entertainment throughout the Peristyle Theater, snacks, and a cash bar.

The Toledo Museum of Art (TMA) has been nominated for the USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Award in the Best Art Museum category, an honor determined by USA Today editors and a panel of subject matter experts.

Presidents’ Day 5K
Put on your favorite patriotic and presidential garb and run or walk the Presidents’ Day 5K on Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Hayes Presidential Library & Museums, Spiegel Grove, Fremont.
The Fremont Elite Runners Club is organizing the second annual 5K event, which begins at 10 a.m. Registration will be held from 8:30-9:45 a.m. in the museum auditorium.
Preregistration is available online at Runsignup.com or fremonteliterunnersclub.com. Preregistration costs $25, and day-of registration costs $30. Those who preregister will receive a race T-shirt (a $2 fee is added for size XXL shirts).
Runners and walkers are welcome.
The begins at the entrance to the museum and will follow a designated course. Prizes will be awarded for first-place finishers in the men’s and women’s category and for the best costume.
The first 100 registered participants will receive a participation gift. Refreshments will be served in the auditorium.
On the morning of the run, the main entrance to Spiegel Grove will be closed from 9:45-11:30 a.m. The Jefferson Gate off Hayes Avenue will instead be used for vehicle traffic during that time.
