Clay reunions set, Magruder Auxilary awards scholarships

Clay 60th reunion set

Members of the Clay High School class of 1965 invited to a 60th reunion set for Sept. 12 and 13.

At 4:30 p.m. on Friday, the graduates will gather at Luckie’s Barn & Grill, 3310 Navarre Ave., Oregon, before heading to the Clay Eagles football game where they’ll gather at the entrance gate. A group photo will be taken after the first quarter of the game.

At 10 a.m. on Saturday, the alumni will enjoy a tour of Clay High School where they will also visit the Performing Arts Center and the Ag area. At 5 p.m., graduates will meet at Dunberger Post, 4925 Pickle Rd., Oregon, to have dinner, share stories and enjoy sock hop music from their era. Pictures from the event will be posted on the CHAFA Facebook page.

The cost is $50 per person, payable to Pat Federici Davis at 4920 Walbridge Rd., Northwood OH  43619.

Clay’s 1990 class to host reunion

The 35th reunion for Clay High School’s class of 1990 will be held Sept. 11 at 5 p.m. at Oak Shade Grove. It is a separate event from Eagle Fest. If anyone has questions for that one, contact Keith Maunz at buckeye8@prodigy.net.

Magruder Auxiliary awards scholarships

The Magruder Auxiliary Scholarship Committee presented scholarships totaling $24,750 to students from high schools throughout Ottawa County for post-secondary programs in a variety of medical fields.

Among Ottawa County students awarded Auxiliary Scholarships were Oak Harbor High School students Samantha Keller, Bella Lake and Effie Schulte and Woodmore student Kora Perkins.

The Magruder Auxiliary funds the scholarships through a series of activities and events held throughout the year, including proceeds from the Magruder Gift Shop and the Auxiliary Style and Trunk Show, which will be held at the Port Clinton Yacht Club on Sept. 21.

In addition, Madison Zimmerman, from Genoa High School, was awarded a Dr. R.W. Minick Scholarship, sponsored by the Magruder medical staff and presented to those choosing to pursue a career as a physician.
