Eastwood High School officially approved the hire of Matt Stanley as the district’s new athletic director for grades 7-12 during a special meeting on Friday, May 1.
“We are excited to welcome Matt to Eastwood,” Eastwood superintendent Brian Hughes said. “He brings valuable experience, a strong work ethic, and a student-centered approach that aligns well with our district’s values. We look forward to the leadership, energy, and vision he will bring to our athletic programs and the continued growth of our student-athletes both on and off the field.”
Stanley currently serves as associate athletic director at Gahanna Lincoln High School, where he supports one of the largest high school athletic programs in Ohio, helping oversee operations for 27 varsity sports and coordinating event management, scheduling, and communication systems.
He previously held athletic leadership roles at Turpin High School and Upper Arlington City Schools. Stanley holds a master’s in sport administration from the University of Cincinnati and is a registered athletic administrator (RAA).
“I relish the opportunity to represent the student-athletes of Eastwood and uphold standards of academic and athletic excellence within such a strong community,” Stanley said.
Stanley will oversee all middle and high school athletic programs, supporting student athletes as they grow both in competition and in the classroom.
