Eastwood girls win NBC bowling title; boys finish third

The Eastwood girls bowling team, behind Makenzie Grover’s 531, shot a 3,056 as a team to capture first place in the first-ever Northern Buckeye Conference Championship on Feb. 18 at Al-Mar Lanes in Bowling Green. On the flip side, the Eastwood boys took home third place.

In addition to Grover, Lilly Cedoz fired a 481, and August Rubel had a 432. Riley Harbert finished fourth on the team with a 405. Cherylann Bembenek tallied a 294 over two games, and Katelyn Ford had a 134 in her lone game.

Rubel and Grover were both named First Team All-NBC, while Harbert and Cedoz nabbed Second Team All-NBC recognition.

Rossford (2,805), Maumee (2,593), and Fostoria (2,490) rounded out the top four.

On the boys side, Maumee (3,854) and Rossford (3,498) finished in the top two spots, just ahead of Eastwood (2,820) and Fostoria (2,772).

The Eagles were led by Ty McMonigal’s 581, while Eli Bailey had a 488. Liam Fiordalisi shot a 363. Abram Bailey (284), Jayden Zientek (233), and Jeremy Wojcik (224) each tallied two-game totals.
