Donald Eli Pittman, age 85, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, at the Gardens of St. Francis in Oregon, Ohio, where he resided for the last year.

Born April 5, 1940, in Kershaw, South Carolina, Don proudly served in the U.S. Army military police in Germany before beginning a long career in banking, marketing, and entrepreneurship. His professional journey took him from First National Bank of South Carolina to Arkansas Bank & Trust, where he worked closely with a young Bill Clinton, and later into advertising, broadcasting, and restaurant ventures. He also served as president of the Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce and was active in civic life as a Justice of the Peace and Mason. Most recently, he was a faithful member of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Oregon.

A devoted car enthusiast, Don collected hundreds of antique cars and enjoyed attending car shows across the country. Since moving to Oregon in 2020, Don could often be found riding his bicycle around town with his loyal four-legged companion, Grady, by his side. Grady sadly passed away earlier this year, but the two were a beloved sight in the community

Most of all, Don loved spending time with his family and cherished his grandchildren dearly. He is survived by his daughter, Marilee (David) Clemons of Oregon, OH; son, Damon (Marian) Pittman of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Alexander and James Clemons and Lucy Pittman; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and son, Derek Kyle Pittman.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held later this fall. Memorial gifts may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Oregon, OH. Arrangements were conducted by Newcomer Funeral Home.
