The Eastwood volleyball team dropped a pair of five-set decisions to Lake and Oak Harbor last week.
Mack Miller had 29 kills, 13 digs, three blocks and two assists in the Oak Harbor match. Ivy Schrader added 12 kills and 13 digs. Addyson Leppelmeier led the Eagles with three aces, while Maya Schmeltz (4) and Braily Moenter (3) combined for seven blocks. Olivia Riter had 12 digs and 43 assists.
Miller produced 32 kills and 19 digs against Lake, while Schrader had 22 digs, seven kills, and seven aces. Riter tallied 42 assists and 19 digs.
The Eagles (12-5, 8-2 NBC) are slated to face Defiance and Rossford this week.
The Genoa volleyball team went 1-2 last week with a four-set win over Northwood, a five-set loss to Lake, and a straight-set loss to Maumee.
Makenna Moritz (11) and Riley Sinift (9) combined for 20 kills against Lake. Lucy Schlageter (4), Moritz (3), and Sinift (2) had nine aces. Sinift had two blocks. Charli Magnone (19), Moritz (19), Schlageter (12), and Mya Rethman (10) all had double-digit digs, while Moritz (14) and Schlageter (11) tallied 25 total assists.
Moritz led the Comets offensively against Maumee with 10 kills, while Mya Colvin had three aces. Sinift had three blocks, Magnone (12) and Schlageter (10) had 22 digs, and Schlageter led in assists with seven.
Sinift and Moritz had 15 terminations apiece against Northwood, while the Comets racked up 13 aces as a team, including three each from Magnone and Moritz. Magnone led four players with double-digit digs with 26. Rethman, Colvin, and Schlageter each added 12. Schlageter (18) and Moritz (14) had 32 total assists.
The Comets (6-11, 2-8 NBC) are slated to face Fremont St. Joe, Otsego, and Oak Harbor this week.
The Lake volleyball team produced five-set victories over Genoa and Eastwood last week before falling to Avon, Liberty-Benton, and Perrysburg in the Block & Gold Invite.
Offensively, Lake was led against Genoa by Mylah Vorst (18), Harlow Haberland (17), and Caity Extine (11), who combined for 46 kills. Savanna Saunders had 10 of her team’s 16 aces. Haberland and Extine had two blocks each. The group of Calli Conley (27), Saunders (25), Laynie Meadows (19), Lucy Boos (16), and Kortny Rollins (10) had double-digit digs. Saunders had 41 assists to complete a double-double.
Vorst (22), Meadows (11), and Boos (10) combined for 43 kills against Eastwood. Boos and Conley added four aces each, while Rollins (3) and Meadows (2) combined for five. Vorst had five blocks. Boos (24), Conley (23), Meadows (14), and Saunders (13) each had double-digit digs, while Saunders led with 25 assists. Boos also had 23 assists to complete a triple-double.
In the three Block & Gold Invite matches combined, Boos had 28 assists, 23 digs, and eight kills. Saunders totaled 39 assists and 21 digs. Meadows had 28 digs and 11 kills. Kennedy Falkenberg had 19 kills, five digs, and four aces. Vorst had 20 kills. Haberland had 16 kills. Conley had 50 digs and four aces.
The Flyers (13-5, 9-1 NBC) are slated to be back in action against Maumee and Otsego this week.
The Gibsonburg volleyball team went 2-1 last week with wins over Northwood and Margaretta. The loss was to Old Fort.
Leah Hall and Riley Gressman had seven kills apiece against Old Fort, while Gressman had a pair of blocks. Hall finished a double-double with a team-high 14 digs, while Brooklyn Smith and Katie Hall had nine each. Katie Hall (11) and Smith (9) totaled 20 assists.
Leah Hall (13) and Gressman (11) totaled 24 terminations against Northwood. Katie Hall had four aces, and Mackenzie Muntz added two. Gressman stuffed four shots. Ava Dawson led the team with 11 digs, and Smith added eight. Katie Hall and Smith each had 15 assists.
Leah Hall had 16 kills against Margaretta, while Gressman (9) and Dawson (8) totaled 17, as well. Katie Hall (4) and Leah Hall (3) totaled seven aces. Katie Hall (15), Dawson (13), Smith (12), and Leah Hall (10) had double-digit digs. Smith (20) and Katie Hall (19) had 39 assists.
The Golden Bears are slated to face Woodmore this week.
The Oak Harbor volleyball team went undefeated last week with wins over Otsego, Eastwood, and Rossford.
In the five-set win over Otsego, Myley Sandwisch (20), Tatum Baumgartner (19), and Alayna Hall (16) had double-digit kills. Ava Lynch (27), Sandwisch (15), Baumgartner (14), and Bella Rios (10) had double-digit digs. Rios had a team-high 26 assists, and Sandwisch finished a triple-double with 24 assists.
In the reverse sweep of Eastwood, Sandwisch (17) and Baumgartner (12) combined for 29 kills. Sandwisch and Maddie Schiets each had three blocks. Lynch (17) and Sandwisch (12) had double-digit digs, and the duo of Rios (21) and Sandwisch (17) tallied 38 assists to give Sandwisch another triple-double.
The sweep of Rossford featured 11 kills from Hall and eight more from Sandwisch. Rios had three aces. Sandwisch had 10 digs, while Lynch (8) and Baumgartner (7) totaled 15 more. Rios and Sandwisch each had 17 assists.
The Rockets (15-3, 8-2 NBC) are slated to face Fostoria and Genoa this week.
The Clay volleyball team split a pair of matches last week, falling in five sets to Perrysburg before rebounding with a straight-set win over Napoleon.
Eme Goetz (23) and Maddie Franke (11) led the Eagles offense against Perrysburg, although Leah Hazuda also had nine kills. Goetz chipped in three aces, while Hayden Rodriguez and Goetz had three blocks each. Jadyn Kennedy (26), Franke (18), Rodriguez (14), and Goetz (11) had double-digit digs. Rodriguez completed a double-double with 46 assists.
Franke (14) and Halle Brenot (13) tallied 27 kills against Napoleon, while Addie Hugueley had four aces. Hugueley had 10 digs to lead the team, while Rodriguez had 39 assists.
The Eagles (12-6, 9-2 NLL) are slated to face St. Ursula and Springfield this week.
