50 years celebrated by sales manager
A local woman recently celebrated working 50 years with Applied Industrial Technologies, a supplier of bearings, power transmission parts, fluid power and industrial parts based in Cleveland.
Joan Foss Flayler graduated from Oak Harbor High School and Tiffin University. She began her career with Applied (then known as Detroit Ball Bearing) working in customer service in the Toledo, office.
Joan was recognized by the Toledo manufacturing buyers as someone they could trust to get what they needed on a timely basis and she was promoted to a sales manager position a few years later. She has a customer base of 60 Toledo area manufacturers that she personally calls on to make sure they are up-to-date on all the products she can supply to them.
From quoting jobs, taking orders, communicating with her team members to make sure orders can and will be supplied on time.
She was recently surprised by a group of her customers and co-workers with a luncheon recognizing her achievements.
She said she has no plans on slowing down anytime soon.
