True, lifelong friendship on display at Kroger

Local resident Maggi Dandar couldn’t help but notice a true testament to friendship and caring on a recent shopping trip at the Oregon Kroger.
“I happened to notice two lovely senior women doing their shopping together. It was like watching a well-oiled machine as Lois Eddy, 71, would hold the coupons and tell Betty Kasubski, 86, how many items to get. Betty would get it off the  shelves and Lois would place it in the cart. Lois was also proficient at knowing which aisle had what in it and how to find it.
“These two have been friends since the age of 19 – one is from Maumee and one from Oregon. Lois would catch the bus and come to Oregon to do her shopping with Betty at Kroger.
“The amazing thing is Lois is blind and Betty is hard of hearing but together, it works. Lois even told me where to find the soda – in aisle 7,” Dandar said.
