Ted Bowen

Ted Bowen, 94, of Woodville, OH passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at the Genoa Care Center in Genoa, OH. He was born on November 25, 1929 to Leonard and Grace (Hunt) Bowen in Puritan, WV. He went on to serve his nation in the United States Air Force in occupied Japan. Ted married Barbara E. Pack on January 17, 1950 in Louisa, KY. Ted and Barbara raised 3 children and celebrated over 68 years of marriage together, until Barbara’s passing in April of 2018.
Ted worked for the Village of Woodville 30 plus years as the Village Administrator until he retired. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Fremont, where his many ministries included being a preacher for the church. He enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing, and taking trips to Canada staying at various camps. One of Ted’s favorite pastimes was spending time with his morning coffee crew. However, his greatest love remained spending time with his family.
Ted is survived by his children: Connie (Paul) Runion of Woodville, Vickie (Larry) Shue of Woodville, and Dr. Mitch (Patty) Bowen of AL. 7 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, brother; Sonny Bowen of Warsaw, OH, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Barbara, he was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Leo and Mickey Bowen, sisters: Joyce Tedlie and Joann Hardin.
Family and friends will be received 4-7 p.m., Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 201 W. Main Woodville, OH. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home 11a.m., Friday, with additional visitation from 10 a.m., until time of service. Burial with military honors will follow in Westwood Cemetery. Officiating will be Sean Rizor.
