Student Stars: Genoa High School senior attains rank of Eagle Scout

        Genoa High School senior Matthew Robinson achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He is the 18th Eagle Scout from Troop # 342, which is sponsored by St. John Lutheran Church in Williston.
        For his Eagle Scout service project, Robinson chose to install mile marker posts, directional signs, and course map signs for the two cross country running courses at Genoa High School. His project was completed during the cross country season last Fall.
        His Eagle Scout court of honor ceremony was held Aug. 4 at the Brunner Campus Community Room in Genoa.
        Robinson is the son of Rob and Amy Robinson, of Curtice, and the grandson of Roger and Janet Schultz, and the late Bill and Sue Robinson, all of Oak Harbor.
 
Dean’s scholarship
        Jake Novak, of Oregon, was among nearly 600 first-year students welcomed to the Baldwin Wallace University campus this fall who claimed $7.8 million in merit scholarships.
        Novak, a graduate of Clay High School majoring in marketing, earned a $13,000 Dean’s Scholarship based on outstanding academic achievements in high school.
        BW’s merit scholarships are awarded to full-time students and are renewable up to four years with good academic and social standing. BW grants a wide range of scholarships to current students each year.

        Kent State University: Alexander Garcia, Katherine Menter, Jared Miller, of Oregon; Heather Mickens, of Toledo; Isabel Del Toro, of Gibsonburg; Natalie Davis, of Woodville.
        Miami University: Joshuah Dembicki, of Pemberville.
