Ronald E. Schimming

Ronald E. Schimming, 80, of Martin, Ohio, was released of his Earthly struggles and pains on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at St. Charles Hospital, nine days shy of his 81st birthday. He was born an only child to Raymond and Ruth (Kasischke) Schimming in Toledo, Ohio on December 30, 1942.

He was a Genoa High School graduate. Ron proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked for several years as a copy repairman retiring in 1982. Ron was a faithful member of St. John  Lutheran Church in Williston. He married his beloved wife, Judy, on April 1, 1971, who he took care of for 25 years until her passing on December 16, 2018.

As Ron began to struggle with Alzheimer’s, his guardian angel, Teresa Kern, led him down the path with dignity, respect and intemperance. In his later years, he enjoyed raising chickens and was very proud of his chickens and eggs. He always had time to talk and will be remembered for his sayings “Catcha Later” and “Hold the Fort”.

Ron will be dearly missed by all who knew him, especially his Gabriella and Gunner who will miss sharing their McDonald’s french-fries with their Poppy and is grandchildren,Payton, Parker, and Cooper; that he and Judy got to enjoy helping with and watch grow into loving kids are truly going to miss  his jokes and contagious smile.

Left to forever cherish his memory are his children, William (Teresa), Wendy, and Matthew (Lacy); and grandchildren, Payton, Parker and Cooper. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Private services will be held for the family. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church,    Williston, Ohio.
