Roger Newland

Roger Newland passed away February 20, 2024. He passed peacefully at home with his loving wife by his side, after a long battle from cancer. He was the son of Alvin “Red” and Sharon Newland.
“Red”, the only father he ever knew, taught him many trades that Roger used throughout his life. He enjoyed working with hand tools and was an excellent welder. If he wasn’t at home working on a project you’d likely find him at someone else’s house, helping them with one of theirs. He was the kind of man who would literally give you the shirt off his back. That’s probably why you’d see him shirtless most of the time. He worked hard all his life. He played hard and loved even harder. He enjoyed life to the fullest.
He loved his family and his friends. He was the happiest just joking around and being silly. Even in his darkest days, he filled the room with laughter many times, which made him smile. He surely will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son. He is survived by his wife, Dawn; siblings, Denise (David) Malkemus and Mark Newland; three biological children, three step children, eight step grandchildren, and one step great grandchild. He leaves behind many more relatives and some very special friends.
Per Roger’s request, there will be no visitation or services at this time. There will be a Celebration of Life party either late spring or early summer.
