Conservation Club
plans Sight-in Day
The Elmore Conservation Club will sponsor the 40th annual Dick Gremling Memorial Sight-In Day Saturday, Oct. 28, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the club range, 15550 West Portage River South Rd., Elmore.
The public event is aimed at giving shooters the opportunity to sight in rifles, pistols, slug-guns, handguns or bows for the hunting seasons. A donation of $5 per firearm or bow is requested, with proceeds going to Elmore-area charities for the needy at the holidays.
Experienced club staff will be on hand to assist participants. The range is located along the Portage River, south side, a half mile west of SR 590. For more information, call 419-478-0233.
Walleye training camp
The fourteenth season of Toledo Walleye hockey got underway with the first day of training camp on Oct. 9 at the Huntington Center.
Thirteen total forwards were in camp to start the season: Chase Gresock, Patrick McGrath, Carson Denomie, Kirill Tyutyayev, Brandon Kruse, Sam Craggs, Mitch Lewandowski, Conlan Keenan, Orrin Centazzo, Brandon Hawkins and Sam Sternschein. Trenton Bliss was assigned from Grand Rapids and Bair Gendunov is on a tryout agreement with the Walleye.
Eight total defensemen were in camp – Riley McCourt, Adrien Beraldo, Grant Gabriele, Thomas Farrell, Jake Willets, Matt Anderson, and Will Cullen. Matt Doran is on a tryout agreement.
The goaltenders are Rylan Parenteau and assigned from Grand Rapids are John Lethemon and Jan Bednar.
