Ottawa Co. Community Foundation names interim director

Ottawa County Community Foundation (OCCF) has named Nancy Heller as interim executive director, effective Oct. 1. The announcement was made by OCCF President Jan Preston.
“Nancy not only has extensive experience in nonprofit management, she has done it very successfully at different institutions and under varying circumstances. She has a remarkable résumé in grant writing, strategic planning, programming, and fund development.
“We feel fortunate that Nancy will join with our board members to assist OCCF in the transition following the sudden loss of president and founding member, Joy Roth,” Preston said.
“I am looking forward to collaborating with OCCF’s dedicated and involved board members to support the mission and goals of the foundation,” Heller said. “Community foundations like OCCF are instrumental in shaping opportunities, lives, and progress across the country.
“OCCF has achieved so much in its first 20 years, and has tremendous potential for growth. The foundation is poised to move forward as a driving force to connect individuals, families and businesses to sustain impactful scholarships and grants for Ottawa County students and nonprofits.”
Heller, Columbus native, holds a master’s degree in Adult Education from The Ohio State University.
She has Ottawa County roots – her grandfather grew up in Port Clinton, her grandmother was a teacher in Port Clinton schools and her family spent summers at their cottage at Locust Point. She relocated to Ottawa County in 2015 and now resides on the same street in Port Clinton where her great grandparents lived.
