Orchard Villa resident celebrates 103rd birthday

        There were “happy birthday” wishes all around as Orchard Villa resident Irene Hornyak turned 103 years old on Sept. 23.
        Irene and her late husband Frank S. Hornyak raised two children, Frances and Frank. Their family has grown to include 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
        Irene, who describes herself as hard-working, humorous and friendly, graduated from Waite High School in 1935, and subsequently worked at Acklin Stamping Company and Tiedke’s Bakery.
        She enjoys reading and playing bingo. Her favorite foods are Hungarian dishes.
