Oak Harbor Mayor Quinton Babcock is launching a project to bring Christmas and News Years cheer to Ottawa County this year through an old art form—Christmas cards.
Ottawa County or area residents can nominate loved ones, neighbors, or even themselves to receive a card filled with holiday cheer.
"I love the art of sending Christmas cards," said Babcock. "I send a few hundred cards to my friends and family every year and I wanted to expand my list to others who love getting cards or who need some Christmas spirit."
Babcock opened a website: www.CardsFromQuinton.com. Through the site, anyone can sign up to receive a card or nominate someone else who could use a little extra joy this season.
"I try to make sure I send cards to my friends that don't have a lot of family around for Christmas. I'm hoping that opening this up to the public will help me reach more people who would appreciate a card this time of year," said Babcock.
Signing up or submitting a nomination can be done by completing the form at www.CardsFromQuinton.com.
If you are nominating someone else you are asked to provide a brief reason why you are nominating them to help provide context.
The website also contains contact information to reach Babcock with any questions.
