Marilyn Ann Brown

Marilyn Ann Brown passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023, at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio-Perrysburg. Marilyn was born to Jesse and Myrtle (Stoner) Freed on December 7, 1934, in Toledo, Ohio. She graduated from Lake High School in 1952 and married Frederick Brown. They shared 63 years of marriage before Frederick’s passing in October 2015. Marilyn and Frederick were longtime members of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Marilyn worked as a bus driver for Oregon City Schools and also worked at the Boys and Girls Club. Along with volunteering at church and Maumee Bay State Park, Marilyn kept busy quilting, crocheting, gardening, reading, cooking, and finishing crossword puzzles. 

Marilyn is survived by her children, Marcia (David) Breier, Melody (Jay) Surdasky, Michael (Michelle) Brown, and Matthew (Angela) Brown; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister Kathleen (Bob) Purney; sisters-in-law 

 

Marge Stoner and Nancy Stoner; and many nieces and nephews. Along with her husband Frederick, she was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jerry, Bill, Dr. John Stoner, and sister Jesselyn Rowland.

Friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S Wynn Rd. Oregon, Ohio for calling hours on Wednesday from 4 until 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church 4155 Pickle Rd. in Oregon, Ohio on Thursday at 11 a.m. where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Burial at Lake Township Cemetery will be private for family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
