Lucas SWCD celebrating 60 years at annual meeting
The Lucas Soil and Water Conservation District (Lucas SWCD) will hold its 60th Annual Meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 13, inside the Crosby Conference Center at the Toledo Botanical Garden, 5403 Elmer Dr., Toledo.
All are welcome to attend this celebration of the past 60 years during which the Lucas SWCD has served the county’s citizens.
The program and dinner will begin at 6 p.m. Lucas SWCD staff will share 2024 highlights and accomplishments. A mini-concert featuring two Toledo Symphony musicians will follow. In addition, several community members will be recognized for their commitment to excellence in education, conservation and partnership. To conclude the evening’s program, there will be a door prize raffle featuring gifts from various local agencies and businesses.
For those who arrive early (doors open at 5 p.m.), there will be a special “Through the Years” scavenger hunt.
Tickets are $20, which includes dinner, entertainment and one entry to the door prize raffle. Additional raffle tickets may be purchased with cash or check at the event.

Currently, Lucas County citizens age 18 and older are eligible to vote in the 2024 board supervisor election. Voters can either cast their ballot in-person or via absentee. To vote in-person, they may either visit the Lucas SWCD office during business hours now through 3 p.m. on Nov. 13 or at TBG on Nov. 13 between 5 and 6 pm.
