Louis Takacs

Louis Takacs, 78 of Oregon, Ohio passed away in his residence on Friday, March 11, 2022. Louie was born in Kaposfo, Hungary on November 3, 1944 to Louis and Margaret (Fazekas) Takacs. Louie came to the United States in 1957 after fleeing Hungary with his mother during the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. Louie attended St. Stephen Catholic School and graduated from Waite High School in 1963. Louie and his wife, Cheryl, ran and operated their family store, Takacs Meat Market for over 32 years until their son Louie took over the business. Louie and Cheryl also owned and currently manage apartment complexes in the Oregon Area. Louie took pride in his family and spent his life devoted to his darling wife, children, and grandchildren.

In addition to his loving wife of 58 years, Cheryl, Louis is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Jim & Mary Takacs, Jerry & Katalin Takacs; mother, Margaret Takacs; grandchildren, Jamie, Jessica (Justin), Ashlyn, Katelynn, James, Darren; and sister, Margie (Ted) Peacock. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Takacs, Sr.; son, Louis Ronald Takacs; and grandson, Austin Takacs.

As per Louie’s wishes private family visitation and services were held at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road followed by internment at St. Ignatius Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Louie’s favorite charity, The American Red Cross which assisted his mother and him after fleeing Hungary and coming to the States or to the donor’s choice.
