Humane society elects board members, officers
Four incumbent members were reelected to the board of directors of the Humane Society of Ottawa County at the annual general election held Jan. 4. They include Barb Muller, Crystal Cleary, Terry Glovinsky and Mary Anne Koebel.
The board also welcomed newly-elected member Megan Ellis.
In addition, officers were elected for 2024. Marty Mortus will serve as president; Sue Sradeja will serve as vice president; Koebel was elected treasurer and Ellis will serve as secretary.
Board meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Ida Rupp Public Library, 310 Madison St., Port Clinton. Meetings are open to the public.
In 2023, the HSOC took in 142 animals, including 112 cats and 30 dogs. A total of 117 animals were adopted from the shelter – 92 cats and 25 dogs. Anyone interested in adopting an animal from the humane society may see available animals at HSOCpets.org.
