Edward L. Brough

Edward L. Brough, age 84, of Genoa, OH passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born on August 30, 1938 in Toledo, OH to Floyd and Elsie (Myers) Brough. He was a graduate of Troy-Luckey High School. 

Edward worked 18 years for the Brunday Corp., and then 20 years in the warehouse for Foodtown before finally retiring in 1993. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Stony Ridge, where he was on the church dartball team.  In addition, he was also a past member of the Troy Township Volunteer Fire Department. Edward enjoyed the outdoors; he was an avid hunter and fisherman and was always doing yardwork. However, out of all his joys, it was spending time with his family, especially going to his grand and great-grandchildren’s sporting events that gave him so much joy. 

Edward is survived by his sons: Douglas Brough of Stony Ridge, and Scott Brough of Genoa, grandchildren: Megan (Gregory) Recker of Bowling Green, Angelina Brough of Fremont, Benjamin Brough of Perrysburg and Jason Brough of Elmore, great-grandchildren: Ethan and Owen Recker, and special friend of 32 years, Donna Filiere of Luckey. He was preceded in death by his parents.  

Family and friends will be received 3-7 p.m., Monday, February 6, 2023 at Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 110 Main Street, Luckey, OH. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 5520 Fremont Pike, Stony Ridge, OH. There will be additional visitation beginning at 10 a.m., until time of services. Officiating was, Pr. Mike Hughes. Interment is in Lake Township Cemetery, Walbridge, OH. Memorials may take the form of contributions to: St. John’s Lutheran Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The family would like to extend a thank you to the caregivers at Fresenius Kidney Center and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the care given to Ed.
