Darr project receives donation
Fenwick Marina of Oak Harbor held its annual Independence Day Celebration on July 5 and 6.
The event included a golf cart parade, 50/50 drawing, several raffles with prizes donated by area businesses and Fenwick members, potluck dinner, and a cornhole contest.
Proceeds from the raffles are to be used to benefit veterans. This year's recipient is the Oak Harbor Conservation Club’s Dr. L.J. Darr project
The donation was presented to the club trustees at their meeting July 8 at the Darr Memorial Wetlands.
Bud Baringer, Darr chairman, introduced the Fenwick representatives to the trustees. The club promotes fellowship among outdoor enthusiasts and promotes the conservation of natural resources.
The club is located on West Toussaint Road in Oak Harbor, on 400 acres of private hunting grounds. It has two indoor shooting ranges and an outdoor shooting range. The donation received will be used for a veterans hunt.
