Clara Ann Nowak

Clara Ann Nowak age 84 of Genoa, passed away Thursday April 18, 2024 at the Riverside Healthcare Campus. Clara was born to Bernard and Agnes (Spentoff) Simon in Toledo, Ohio on January 18, 1940. She graduated from St. Ursula High School. Clara met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Nowak on a blind date, and on October 3, 1959 they were married in St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church. Bob and Clara moved their family to Genoa, Ohio in 1972 and became members of Our Lady of Lourdes. Clara enjoyed being active in her children's lives and never missed a field trip. She loved to bake, decorate cakes, garden, crochet, and play the piano. Clara was an avid volunteer for many years as a library volunteer for Genoa Schools, precinct chair, delivering Meals on Wheels, and active in the Altar Rosary Society.
Clara is survived by her husband of 64 years Bob; children Keith Nowak, Angie (Marty) Zak, Mary (Ron) Bosch; son-in-law Kerry McKinney; grandchildren Tiffany (Sean), Ricky (Kari), Emma, Margie (Zack), Liz (Griffin), and Brooke; great-grandchildren Thomas, Lillian, and Cassian; sister-in-law Joyce Simon and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Lynda McKinney, siblings John Simon, Joanna Drolesky, Agnes Krueger, and Bernard Simon.
A visitation will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S Wynn Rd in Oregon, Ohio on Monday, April 29, 2024 from 3 until 8 p.m. where a Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church 204 Main St Genoa, Ohio on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 11 a.m. where the family will greet visitors one hour before Mass. Memorial contributions are appreciated to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the charity of your choice.
