Barbara A. Welling

Barbara entered into eternal rest on August 22, 2020. She was born to Harold and Erna Koester on September 2, 1932, in Toledo, Ohio. Barbara graduated from Clay High School in 1950 and was employed at Owens Illinois as a secretary for five years. In 1953, she married Paul Welling. They lived on Pickle Road in Oregon, Ohio, in their only home, for over 60 years. She and her husband also had a fruit juice vending business for 15 years. Together, she and Paul raised three children (Douglas born in 1955, Linda born in 1958, and Diane born in 1963).
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul on July 31,1991, her sister Sandra, and her brother James. Surviving Barbara are her son Douglas (Victoria, Deceased), daughters Linda McKibben (Jerry) and Diane Rahn (Christopher), and son-in-law Kevin MacRitchie.  
 
She had ten grandchildren: Graham Welling, Paula Brinkerhoff (Ross), Kaitlin Szozda (Jordan), Andrew MacRitchie, Genny Ballmer (Corey), Samantha Decker (Joe), Jessica Coombs (Tyrone), Kasey Rahn, Molly Rahn, and Emma Rahn. She also had 11 great-grandchildren: Alivia, Mason, Charlotte, Wesley, Braylon, Jamison, Zita, Sullivan, Callen, Ellison, and Alden.
 
Barbara was a life-long Lutheran and a member of First St. John Lutheran Church. She enjoyed her yard and garden and being with her children and grandchildren. Services will be private for the family, and a live stream will be available on the Freck Funeral Chapel Facebook page after 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, 2020. A burial will be held in the First St. John Lutheran Church cemetery.
