Oak Harbor resident Gary Anderson, Director of Civilian Marksmanship-Emeritus, who has been a household name at the Civilian Marksmanship Program, and in much of the U.S. precision rifle shooting community since the 1950s, has been named one of 15 finalists for induction into the U.S.

The Oregon-Northwood Rotary Club will present the Second Annual Run for Literacy and Golf Ball Drop on Sept. 7 with proceeds to benefit literacy projects in the community. The event will occur at Fassett Junior High School and includes a 5K route for runners and 1K route for walkers.

In Northern Buckeye Conference girls golf, Lake and Eastwood have good roster numbers, including a combined nine letter winners returning.

Last year, Eastwood girls soccer stunned Northwest Ohio when first team All-Ohio forward McKenna Souder and a group of freshmen joined with a strong contingent of upperclassmen to lead the Eagles to a 19-2 season.
