The Elmore Senior Center, formally known as Elmore Golden Oldies, will be leaving Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church effective Thursday, Feb. 2, and will join the Genoa Senior Center at their location on Main Street in Genoa.

I got a phone call on Tuesday from the U.S. Border Patrol saying they had intercepted a package at the border being sent to me that contained contraband. This “contraband” was supposedly illegal drugs and cash. Of course, I knew instantly it was a scam.

The “sundowning” confusion that increases during the winter months in individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias can also lead to a higher risk of wandering off and getting lost. During the colder winter months, wandering can be especially perilous.

If you did not apply for Medicare Part B (medical insurance) within three months before or after turning age 65, you have another chance each year during the General Enrollment Period. The period runs from Jan. 1 to March 31 every year.
