A few years ago, I was talking with a man who was contemplating retirement. He and his wife had worked very hard for a long time and had accumulated considerable assets and carried no debt.

The Treasury Department launched a new web tool allowing quick registration for Economic Impact Payments for eligible individuals who do not normally file a tax return, and also announced that it would begin making automatic payments.

Catawba historian Don Rhodes will not turn 89 until this summer, however, he has just received an early birthday gift from his fellow members of the Board of the Catawba Island Historical Society – emeritus membership as a lifetime trustee of that organization.

While sensory loss is remarkably common, the world is not designed to accommodate those living with challenges such as impaired vision, hearing and mobility. This harsh reality is no more apparent than on the demographic with the highest rate of sensory loss: seniors.
