McDougall reappointed veterans service commission
On Jan. 6, Ottawa County Common Pleas Court Judge Bruce Winters swore in David McDougall, appointing him a member-at-large commissioner on the Ottawa County Veterans Service Commission.

Shannon Hughes, Director of Education and Programming at Metroparks Toledo, received a 2022 20 Under 40 Leadership Recognition Award on Oct. 25 at the 27th annual 20 Under 40 awards ceremony.
Hughes, who resides in Oregon, was among the 20 selected from a field of 168 candidates.

A longtime volunteer who specializes in trees is the new building and grounds superintendent at the Hayes Presidential Library & Museums.
John Havens, who has served as a Hayes Presidential volunteer and board of trustees member, began working in the position full-time in June.
