Mayor’s court in the Village of Walbridge is scheduled to start operating in January after village council on Dec. 18 approved reinstating the court and hiring magistrates to hear cases.
Mayor Ed Kolanko said the court may be operating as early as the third week in January.

Guy Parmigian, superintendent of the Benton-Carroll-Salem School District, has accepted a faculty position at Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan.
He plans to start in August, 2020, following eight years at his current position with B-C-S.

A Lake Township fire truck involved in a fatal Dec. 14 accident on State Rt. 795 was damaged beyond repair and will have to be replaced, fire chief Bruce Moritz reported Tuesday to the township trustees.

Lake Township Police Chief Mark Hummer is alerting the public to a scam in Ohio aimed at dog owners.
The scammers are attempting to convince the owners they may access a statewide website to buy or renew dog licenses.
