First Defiance exits federal government’s TARP program
First Defiance Financial Corp., parent company of First Federal Bank with local offices in Genoa and Oregon, announced it has purchased company stock held by the United States Government as part of the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) program and is no longer part of the program.

Nurse designs personal hospital gown for more privacy
A woman’s need for privacy in the hospital is usually compromised by medical professionals just doing their jobs.

While hospital gowns that tie in the back and are solid in front are ideal cover-ups for bed-bound patients just coming out of surgery, the same gowns reveal too much as patients start moving around their rooms or in the halls.

Oregon Economic Development Foundation - Experience in Atlanta market will benefit new director 
Tim Pedro, president of the Oregon Economic Development Foundation, has announced the foundation has hired an experienced economic development professional from Georgia as its new executive director.

Lindsay Myers, former economic development program manger for the Gwinnett Chamber, will start work Monday, July 9 and be introduced to the business community at the foundation’s annual Party in the Parking Lot Thursday, Aug. 9 from 4 to 8 p.m.

Brothers announce condo development at Eagles Landing

Rigg Builders announced last week the company would build 22 condos in Oregon on Wynn Road at Eagles Landing. 

The zero-lot line units will be handicap-accessible, with wide hallways and no steps for senior living, according to Donna Best, the company’s marketing and sales associate. The condos feature 1,400 square-feet of living space, two-bedrooms, two full baths, a two-car garage and a covered porch. An association will take care of snow removal and lawn care, but condo owners will be responsible for other maintenance.
