Five firms get top honors
The Toledo Lucas County Health Department has named five local food-serving establishments among the 50 Top-Rated Food Establishments in Lucas County as far as compliance with food safety regulations, kitchen cleanliness and “a continued and conscientious effort to maintain a clean and safe operation.”
The recognition was determined by the food safety staff of the health department, which inspects all food serving establishments in the county.
The five are: Big Apple Deli and Oregon City Schools, Oregon; Michael’s Café and Real Seafood, East Toledo; and Northwood Vending, Northwood.
At the clubs
Dean Monske, president and CEO of the Regional Growth Partnership, will speak about economic development in East Toledo and Oregon to members of the East Toledo Club Thursday, noon at the Weber Block at Front and Main in East Toledo. The public is invited.
Monske has travelled to China and has been involved in negotiations with Dashing Pacific Group, the Chinese investment firm which purchased The Docks and 69 acres in the Marina District. He will speak about that project as well as address other growth opportunities east of the Maumee River.

The Rossford Business Association will host its Sixth Annual RBA Business Fair Saturday, March 24, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Owens Community College, Student Health and Activities Center. More than 75 booths will showcase products and services of the businesses and organizations from Rossford and surrounding communities.
